Medical centre












All colleagues  have the opportunity to register with a GP at the Medical Centre at the University. The Medical Centre is situated on the 3rd Floor in Maxwell building and is open during term time Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00 and 09:00 to 13:00 out of term time.

Podiatry Clinic 












The Podiatry Clinic is run by students who are supervised by fully trained academic staff and provide help and support to staff and students with foot problems, nail surgery for an ingrowing toe nail, biomechanical issues, foot-related sports injuries and can even modify or create bespoke orthoses. The Podiatry clinic also provides podiatry assessment and management, nail surgery, gait analysis and assessment of sports injuries.

Psychological First Aid












The project aims to provide basic psychological first aid training to colleagues, students and members of the local community. The training consists of a one day workshop, which covers basic mental health awareness, positive responding skills, understanding how to recognise mental health issues, how to provide basic psychological support to someone in distress and signposting/ resourcing.

Sports Injury, Exercise & Rehabilitation Clinic












This service is available to staff and students and is delivered by Sport Rehabilitation students, who are supervised by members of staff from the Directorate of Sport. They offer a variety of rehabilitation services such as sports massages, rehabilitation plans, musculoskeletal screening and postural assessments, health improvement programmes, fitness assessments, injury prevention and performance enhancement plans after a referral process has taken place.

Sports Centre Membership 












The University’s Sports Centre is situated on the Peel Park Campus and is open seven days a week offering a variety of services to staff and students including two state of art fitness suites, swimming pool, sauna and spa, fitness studio, sports hall, health hub and squash sports.

Swimming Lessons












The Sports Centre offers swimming lessons provided by the Dolphin Academy. A diverse range of swimming sessions from competitive swim club training to 1 parent and baby sessions are available to all students and staff. The sessions are run every Wednesday evening (8-9.30pm) and on Saturday and Sunday mornings (9.00-11.30am).

Cycle to work scheme












The University of Salford is committed to ensure employees are provided with sustainable methods of travel in order to promote healthier lifestyle and journeys to work. Employees can now participate in the BenefitsPlus Cycle to Work scheme that is offered through Evans Cycles Ride2Work scheme, whereby cycles are purchased by the University for their use by employees. Terms & Conditions (such as a reduction of salary) apply to the scheme.
