Week in the life of a Communications Assistant #3
May 10, 2019
Each week, our Commications Assistant, Holly, will be telling you what happens behind the scenes of the Staff Channel…
I hope everyone had a lovely bank holiday! If you missed last week's blog, you can read it here.
On Tuesday, it was the Marketing, Recruitment and External Relations away day, which was very exciting! This involved hearing about the great work everyone in the directorate has been doing. We also took part in a number of teambuilding games, one of which my group won! The highlight of the day, though, was definitely being tasked with building a chair out of balloons!
Wednesday involved yet another interesting event; this time, it was a trip down memory lane, as I watched performances from Performance, English and Creative Writing students, who showcased their work, from the Shakespeare in Performance (something which I studied myself as an undergraduate!) and Salvation to Damnation modules, at Ordsall Hall. The students really blew me away with their creativity and talent.
This week has been quite a busy one, also involving many a Staff Channel article, plus the filming and editing of a video interview with Dr Shane Sullivan. Today, I will be attending the Greater Manchester Fastest 50 Awards, at the Royal Exchange Theatre, which sounds intriguing!
