Do you want to highlight the excellent work of a female colleague or student in your area, whose commitment and dedication sets them apart?  Then why not nominate them for a coveted Women’s Voice award?

Our new Women’s Voice staff network will be marking International Women’s Day on Friday 8 March with a celebratory Women’s Voice Awards event recognising the achievements of female colleagues (professional services, estates and academic) and students in the University.  You can find out more about who is on the new committee and read their biographies here.

The awards also underline our commitment to the Athena SWAN Charter and to improving outcomes for women in higher education.

Nominations are welcomed from all our schools and directorates so let us know who you admire and why. The online submission form, which is accessed via Microsoft Online, is quick and easy to fill in and you can nominate as many people as you like, however individuals can only be nominated for one of the three awards, in either the student or staff category. The members of the Women’s Voice network cannot be nominated, and in the event that a member of the judging panel is nominated, they will be precluded from the final decisions. Voting will close at midnight on Friday 15 February.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony in The Old Fire Station on Friday 8 March, from 2.30pm. The awards event will be hosted by Dr Francine Morris, Head of Athena Swan – and there will be keynote speeches and refreshments provided. It promises to be an inspiring and motivational event and you can find out more and book your ticket by clicking this link.
