Spot our Salford Snowman at MediaCityUK
Nov 28, 2018
We’re pleased to share the University is a sponsor of the Walking with the Snowman trail which marks the 40th anniversary of Raymond Briggs’ heart-warming tale, The Snowman. A collection of twelve beautifully decorated snowman sculptures are waiting to be discovered on this family-friendly trail all around MediaCityUK.
Each sculpture will portrait one of The Twelve Days of Christmas and we are delighted to be sponsoring a snowman inspired by the Eleven Pipers Piping, specially designed by artist Lois Cordelia.
The trail encourages you to enjoy the crisp wintery air and is open now until Sunday 6 January. Over the next few weeks we’ll be keeping you up to date with this fun public art event – there are a few surprises along the way such as feel-good festive carolling and a Jingle Bell Jog so stay tuned!
The team behind the trail is Wild in Art who earlier this year organised the much-loved Bee in the City trail, which had Manchester buzzing from July to September. Walking with The Snowman will raise money for BBC Children in Need, which makes a real difference to the lives of children all across the UK. At the end of the trail the twelve giant snowmen will be auctioned to raise vital funds so that BBC Children in Need can continue this important work.
