We say farewell to Rita Haworth
Oct 10, 2018
Rita Haworth, senior lecturer in social policy is retiring on 17 October after twenty three years of service.
She leaves behind a legacy of setting up the first community placement module in the Directorate of Society which has been adopted by many other programmes across the University over the years. This has enabled students to gain employment skills working alongside our community partners. She also leaves a contribution to the social policy research debate in areas such as older people, dementia, equal opportunities and health and social care policy. Publication of her work is cited in several journal articles such as the British Medical Journal and the Journal of Dementia care.
Rita said; "I will miss my colleagues, but am now looking forward to the adventures of the next chapter."
