Salford nominated in the Green Gown Awards for the eighth year!

We’re pleased to share that Salford has just been nominated in the ‘Next generation learning and skills’ category at this year’s prestigious Green Gown Awards. The awards are highly regarded in the world of sustainability and environmental awareness.
The nomination is for the excellent work our Business Ethics & Sustainability module team does in partnership with our Sustainability colleagues. The ‘BEST’ team have worked together create a world-class teaching and learning experience in line with our industry strategy through shared knowledge, learning and innovation. The Business Ethics and Sustainability module for level 6 reaches around 350 students every academic year, our future business leaders. The module has recently been redesigned with the Social Enterprise Visits Initiative (SEVI) and our Sustainability team to become a real-world student learning experience. The delivery of teaching has a combination of pedagogical approaches including workshops, guest talks and field trips to social enterprises with a keen focus on the skills and knowledge that is vital for professional practice and employability.
Environmental and Sustainability Officer Bec Bennett said: “This our eighth year being nominated in the Green Gown Awards. Once again it’s great to see Salford being recognised for our ongoing efforts to embed sustainability and the nomination is testament to all the hard work the BEST team has put in to develop our innovative Business Ethics and Sustainability module.”
The ceremony will be held on 8 November at The National Railway Museum, York. Best of luck to the team!
