Buckingham Palace Welcomes Salford Security
Jun 07, 2018
We are incredibly proud to share the news that our very own Head of Security and Community Support, Trevor Jones, was moving in Royal circles earlier this week when he attended a special event at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday 5 June.
Trevor was nominated to attend the event by the Vice Chancellor's office for carrying out work "over and above what is expected at the University". The nomination was in recognition of his work in areas such as ProtectED, emergency planning, team building, and many other innovative ideas and initiatives that drive the fantastic work of the University Security team.
The event was hosted by HRH the Prince of Wales with his wife The Duchess of Cornwall, along with the Princess Royal and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. Trevor attended with his wife Jayne, pictured in the gallery of images below.
Professor Helen Marshall commented: "Under Trevor's leadership Salford is becoming increasingly well regarded in the educational security sector and his work is taking him all over the world representing Salford and sharing this expertise. It is so important for us to all acknowledge and share the success of our colleagues who go the extra mile to make Salford a great place to work, study and live"
Speaking about the event, Trevor said:"It was an absolute honor to be invited to the Palace to attend such a fantastic event.I am incredibly proud of the work that we do at Salford, it is a real team effort and we will continue to go from strength to strength."
