TODAY: Have Your Say - Tackling hate and promoting social cohesion
Mar 09, 2018
The Greater Manchester Mayor’s Office is inviting staff and students to share their views on how we can tackle hate and radicalisation in the community, along with how we can better promote social cohesion. The workshop will take place on Friday 9 March 12:30 – 2:30 in the Council Chamber at The Old Fire Station. Your responses will be fed back directly to the Mayor’s Commission.
Your comments will help us to get a better understanding of we can improve social cohesion in the community. The Greater Manchester Mayor’s Commission has these key areas of focus:
- To look at the broader determinants of social exclusion and how we can work collectively to address them
- To develop a distinctive community-led GM approach to challenging hateful radicalisation of all kinds and from wherever it comes
- To consider how Prevent operates in Greater Manchester
- To establish a Greater Manchester Charter – establishing shared values and commitments that will be the foundations upon which the Greater Manchester Strategy work is built (not just principles which are called into action when something goes wrong)
Please confirm your attendance by registering here. Light refreshments will be provided.
If you can't make it to the event but would still like to have you're say, the GM Mayor's Commission have an online survey you can take part in. This should take about 10-15 minutes and all feedback will be used in a Comissioner's report, with a summary of recommendations published later in 2018. The survey closes at 8am on Monday 15th April 2018.
