Greenpower Electric Car Challenge Launch - book now.
Feb 06, 2018
7 March 9.30am-1pm New Adelphi Theatre Book now.
We are thrilled to announce the University is taking part in the Greenpower Electric Car Challenge, which will see our students work in multi-disciplinary teams to design, build and race single-seat electric cars. Staff will be vital to the success of this exciting project, supporting students in everything from business and marketing to aerodynamics, graphic design and autonomous systems.
Our Greenpower teams will compete against industry teams (including JLR, Lockheed, Cummins, and Perkins) and other universities from around the world. This offers our students crucial industry-relevant experience, especially for those in the Schools of Arts & Media, Computing, Science & Engineering, Salford Business School and Health Sciences.
At the launch event, staff and students will hear from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, our ICZ Director Engineering & Environments and top industry professionals from Prodrive and Siemens, about how the project operates and how and why to get involved. You’ll also hear from a Greenpower Championship winning secondary school team and see their current Greenpower cars.
The Greenpower Challenge is a fantastic example of the University’s ICZ strategy in action. To find out how you can embed it into your curriculum, get involved, and the benefits for your students, book now and come along to the New Adelphi Theatre on Wednesday 7 March for an exciting, interactive morning session.
