Alumni Magazine out now
Feb 14, 2018
The latest issue of ‘From Salford’, our alumni magazine, was delivered to desks and pigeonholes across campus last week.
This year’s issue celebrates the University’s 50th anniversary by highlighting the key moments and people who have contributed to our success over the last 50 years. We check in with alumnus Christopher Eccleston, who officially opened our Dementia Hub back in May and talks candidly about the impact of dementia on his family. We also catch up with our graduates who are trailblazing in their industries, including Oscar winning animator Fonzo Romano, social enterprise entrepreneur Nadia Gasper, as well as this year’s inspiring Alumni Achievement Award winners.
The incredible work of our academic staff and researchers is also featured, from Professor Mike Wood’s Chernobyl study named Research Project of the Year at the Times Higher Education awards, to our headline-hitting Purple Reign conference - the world’s first conference dedicated to the late funk legend Prince. We also cover the impact of our industry partnerships, as we outline the success of our key ICZ strategy by highlighting our ongoing work with HOME, Manchester’s primary arts centre, which sees students and staff benefitting from industry based opportunities.
An online version of the magazine is also available here: https://www.salford.ac.uk/alumni/news-and-features/from-salford-magazine.
