Our new podcast Salford Speaks is live!
Nov 28, 2017
We’re delighted to announce the launch of a new podcast for University of Salford people. Each month Salford Speaks will bring together individuals from across the University to chat about their roles and the big topics affecting you.
Each show will be a 15 minute snippet of life at Salford and will feature conversations with big thinkers, innovative teams and creative minds here on campus.
There’ll be a real mix of content, from the big issues that affect the utterly fun and frivolous. Whether you listen to it on the train in your way to work or at your desk on a Friday afternoon, we hope you’ll love it.
The shows are 15 minutes long and hosted and produced by the Communications team, with support from our technicians in the New Adelphi. Special thanks goes to third year Creative Music Technology student Calvin Lanz (right) who composed a unique Salford Speaks jingle. “I wanted to bring a bit of Salford’s identity into it,” he said. “I was really inspired by bands from the area and in particular The Buzzcocks’ track Ever Fallen in Love – I wanted to create something with the same energy.”
In the first show we speak to Sue Clarke and Gemma Lomas from the Inclusion and Diversity team to talk all things diversity at Salford. They’re currently busy promoting Salford Inclusion and Diversity Week (27 November- 1 December) but took time to tell us all about the campaign and how inclusive they feel Salford really is. You can also read more about the team's priorities here.
You can stream it below on Soundcloud or even subscribe to Salford Speaks on iTunes (just search 'Salford Speaks').
As always we’d love to hear your feedback so do get in touch at Internalcomms-Uos@salford.ac.uk. Happy listening!
