Oct 04, 2017

A total of 13 Student Experience Enhancement Projects will be set in motion
Applications are now open

Do you have an idea that could directly benefit the student experience here at Salford? Applications are open from today for the next call of small-scale Student Experience Enhancement Projects. The fund will support small value projects (£1,500-£2,500). All colleagues are welcome to apply.

 Each proposed project should:

·         directly benefit students and improve the student experience

·         be able to demonstrate impact upon student retention and/or employability

·         be implemented between now and Easter 2018

The closing date for bids is close of business on Monday 6 November. After this date a small judging panel of colleagues from across the university will review applications and select the final shortlist of projects to progress. Applicants will hear if their bid has been successful by the end of the week commencing 13 November. Project proposals submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Pro Vice-Chancellor Student Experience Dr Sam Grogan said: “An excellent student experience is truly at the heart of everything we do here. Following recent improvements in retention, student satisfaction and graduate employability reflected in our 10 place rise in the Sunday Times Good University Guide, we are looking to support a number of projects to build upon that success. This call for applications intends to support a number of low-cost / high impact projects that will bring direct benefit to our students within this academic year. Regardless of which area you work in at the University, if you have a great idea and want to make it happen, please do apply.”

Applications will close on Monday 6 November. If you would like to apply, please complete the application form and submit directly to Executive Support Officer Emma McLaughlan at

In a few months we'll share an update on how the successful bids are helping to improve student experience here at Salford, as well bringing you up to date on the thirteen projects that were approved for funding in the last round of submissions.
