ICZ month: NME partnership’s hitting the right notes
Sep 11, 2017
It’s the second week in ICZ month and we’re shining the spotlight on our partnership with the iconic NME magazine.
Supported by the University, NME Life Hacks was set up to inspire young people who want to get into the creative industries. It also gives us the chance to raise our brand awareness nationally, engage with 15-17 years olds and open up opportunities with a wider range of potential partners.
Now extended into a year-long campaign, Life Hacks is bringing together guest speakers from a range of areas - including music, fashion, film and tech - to share their career and life advice.
We’ll be doing a series of 10 events, both online and in target cities across the UK, as well as two major flagship events in London and Manchester. There’ll be talks from high-profile experts, Q&A sessions and workshops, with our staff on hand to offer advice and guidance on potential next steps.
Hannah Burchell our associate director of Marketing, said: “Helping today's young people to identify and take advantage of opportunities to work directly with business and industry experts is at the heart of our teaching model. We look to equip our students with the skills and confidence to thrive in an ever changing world and working with NME brings a unique and inspirational approach to preparing young people for life.”
Young talent will also get the chance to gain real-life experience through NME’s Ultimate Work Experience, a programme offering 20 aspiring professionals placements. Design workshops headed up by NME’s creative director will also see budding creatives compete to create promotional material for the campaign.
A video series called ‘30 Seconds to Greatness’ featuring bitesize pieces of advice from people who have made it to the top of their fields will also run on NME.com
