Well done to Louise Henstock, Lecturer in Physiotherapy for being awarded a coveted senior fellowship with the Higher Education Academy (HEA).

The HEA works with academics, universities and governments to champion teaching excellence in higher education across the globe and improve student outcomes.

Louise said: I’m really delighted to have achieved the status of Senior Fellow of the HEA. It’s real recognition of the commitment and leadership in teaching and learning, as well as the impact it has on the students and staff experiences. Teaching students is the main reason why I entered academia and it continues to be so 14 years later.”

This appointment is only one part of a fabulous year for Louise; she was awarded Best Teacher – Health Schools & Best Overall Teacher Salford University in the 2017 Salford Students Union Teaching Awards.

Louise added: “I was also part of the team who won the VC Distinguished Teaching Awards! And for I job I love doing – how good is that?!“
