HE Policy Network – book now for our second event
Feb 17, 2017
Do you want to know more about higher education policy and have an opportunity to discuss topical policy issues with colleagues and external experts?
Our new Higher Education Policy Network provides an opportunity for you to find out more about policy developments in HE through events featuring internal and external speakers. Co-ordinated by the Strategy Directorate, the Network is aimed at all colleagues, who are interested or involved in higher education policy.
We’ve already held one sold-out network meeting in November, fronted by Ant Bagshaw Deputy Director of Wonkhe who spoke and answered questions from the floor on the current HE policy landscape including the Teaching Excellence Framework.
We’re now delighted to announce our second HE Policy Network meeting, which will be held on 8 March in Room 102 of the Peel Building between 1pm and 3pm.
Dr Scott Court, Head of HEFCE’s Quality Team will be talking about the new operating model for quality assurance which comes into effect in 2017/18 and the transition arrangements that are taking place during the current academic year.
He will explore how quality assurance fits into the new regulatory framework (under the Office for Students) and HE and Research Bill, including the Teaching Excellence Framework, and the role of universities’ governing bodies in providing assurances about quality and standards matters. The new quality assessment marks a significant shift towards a risk-based approach that will enable us to be creative and innovative in how we deliver good outcomes for our students.
This event is open to all colleagues and is particularly relevant to Associate Deans, Directors, Programme Leaders and other colleagues who are involved in supporting and managing taught programmes via the Programme Monitoring and Enhancement Procedure.
