An invitation to say farewell to Castle Irwell
May 29, 2015
All colleagues are invited to join us to bid farewell to the iconic student village, Castle Irwell, home to an estimated 40,000 students over the last 42 years.
On Saturday 6 June, 12-6pm the University marks the closure of this Salford icon with a special celebration for alumni, colleagues and students.
The free event is an opportunity to take a trip down memory lane, as well as enjoying a range of sport, entertainment and music including:
One of the Castle Irwell houses will be open for you to look round; a great chance for alumni to remember the good times and relive student days.
Enter a team on the day and compete against colleagues, current students and other alumni in our football and softball tournaments.
Bring your own team (football 7-8 and softball 8-12 members) or join one on the day. Changing facilities will be available and there is no need to register teams in advance.
If sport isn’t your thing, you can simply sit back and relax with friends or enjoy a range of other activities.
Food & Drink
Refreshments will be available to purchase on the day. Enjoy one final BBQ on the fields of Castle Irwell, or choose from a range of other options, and grab a drink at the pop-up Students’ Union bar.
This is a ticketed event. Please book online, here. You will need to bring your confirmation email with you on the day to ensure your admission to the site.
