A New Year, a new you...?

Jan 04, 2010

A range of workshops covering topics from Reception Skills and Minute Taking to Happiness, Motivation and Self is being offered by Human Resources to help colleagues realise their full potential in 2010.

If you'd like advice on staff appraisals, want to write better copy, or feel the need to hone your management skills, then check HR's Employee Development webpages and find a course to suit you.

Informative workshops on subjects such as Mental Health Awareness and Equality and Diversity for Managers are scheduled every month.

Training is also offered in other areas, including Creative Problem Solving, Speed Writing, Confidence in Presentation Skills and Dealing with Situations Assertively.

If you're approaching retirement age, you might find the Preparing for Retirement workshop, on 29 January 2010, useful. It's designed to help you consider the financial implications of retirement and help you to plan for the future, taking into account the implications of dependants, the importance of wills, where to seek advice and issues of long-term ill health.

There is a packed programme of training activity throughout the year. Workshops are available to all staff - academic and support - and it's very easy to book your place.

Alternatively, you could try one of the online courses, for a blended learning or self-study option.

The HR Development Team can also work with you to specify, plan and deliver customised solutions to training and development for you and your team.
