Secretary of State for Health to speak with colleagues and students
Today (Friday 12 February) the Rt Hon Andy Burnham MP, Secretary of State for Health, will be hosting an inspirational address to colleagues and students relating to the importance of leadership within Health and Social Care. He will be reflecting on his own journey and experience of leadership.
Andy Burnham was appointed as Secretary of State for Health in June 2009. He is also the MP for Leigh in Greater Manchester, elected in June 2001. Prior to that he held positions such as Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport from January 2008 to June 2009 and was Minister of State for Delivery and Reform at the Department of Health from May 2006 to June 2007.
The seminar, part of a leadership seminar series, will take place in the Mary Seacole Building between 11am-12pm. Admission is free and refreshments will be provided, but colleagues will need to reserve your place in advance.
