Members of the Confederation of Indian Industry Innovators and Entrepreneurship Delegation, led by esteemed guest Kris Gopalakrishnan, CEO of Axilor Ventures, were warmly welcomed at Salford on Friday 12 April.
Made possible by the Manchester India Partnership, the event was delivered in collaboration with the University of Bolton and provided an excellent opportunity for international networking and learning across a range of global industries, reinforcing the University’s commitment to industry collaboration and international partnership development.
The day involved a lunch where colleagues and visitors were able to discuss potential areas for future collaboration, followed by a tour of the MediaCity campus, headed by Dr. Annabelle Waller and Beth Hewitt, which allowed guests to view the University’s state-of-the-art facilities. Jo Purves, Pro Vice-Chancellor International and Regional Partnerships also delivered a presentation about the University to the delegates, discussing our ICZs; research, recruitment and our international partnership activity in India; as well as our alumni success stories. Richard Thomas, the Assistant Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bolton later provided an overview of their ongoing work to develop industry-relevant programmes and their growing areas of research. To conclude, Kris Gopalakrishnan shared his knowledge and expertise during a discussion led by Vikas Shah, the Managing Director of Swiscot Group, a Manchester based textiles and commodities trading firm, with operations worldwide.
