Salford Pride needs your vote!

The Pink Picnic is one of the highlights of Salford Pride’s annual calendar of events that aim to create a safe and inclusive space for self-expression and raise awareness of LGBT+ issues within the Salford community and beyond.

In order to keep the Pink Picnic event free it relies on sponsorship, funding, grants and donations. This year Salford Pride are bidding for the Aviva Community Grant and need at least 1000 votes to go through to the final stage.

Graham Rimmer from Salford Pride and our LGBT+ Staff Network said:

‘Supporting our local community is essential as the University is seen as a pillar within the local community.  The Pink Picnic celebrates our LGBT+ community and its allies. Keeping this event free, enables everyone to attend making the event truly inclusive to the City’s residents’

Voting is quick and simple, just register on the https://www.avivacommunityfund.co.uk/voting/project/view/4-2723 click on the ‘Vote’ button on The Pink Picnic project 2019, where you will then receive 10 votes to put towards the project! Voting closes midday on 20 November 2018 and the judges will announce the results from 24 January 2019.
