Recruitment: Interim ICZ Director Health & Wellbeing
Aug 08, 2018
Following the departure of Andrew Spencer, we are seeking to appoint an interim ICZ Director Health and Wellbeing (ICZ H&W) until such time as a permanent appointment is made. It is anticipated that the permanent appointment process will begin in early Autumn and it is likely, therefore, that the interim post will run until Spring 2019.
The ICZ Director will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership and management of the Health and Wellbeing ICZ, and will deliver agreed outcomes in the context of the University Strategic Plan, working through the ICZ H&W Executive and Strategic Board. The Director will work closely with the Deans of each school and Directors of Professional Services, the three other ICZ Directors and the ICZ Team to collectively deliver leadership to this, our single strategic priority.
As a group, all four ICZ Directors will ensure the four ICZ plans and activities are integrated to deliver agreed targets which support the wider objectives of the University, and position the ICZs to contribute to the achievement of the University KPIs.
Each Industry Collaboration Zone is being built on exceptional and mutually beneficial industry collaborations. They underpin our vision of the role of the University as an anchor institution and a force for good in the local community and regional economy. They also ensure a high quality student experience and enhanced employability for our graduates.
The successful applicant will have proven management and leadership skills and high level specialist subject knowledge in health and wellbeing, and a sound understanding of the external environment.
HOW TO APPLY
Internal applications are now invited to apply for this role. Interested colleagues should submit a current CV and a short outline (no more than two sides of A4) indicating how they would meet the requirements of the role. For the avoidance of doubt, this temporary appointment will not exclude the successful appointee from being considered for the permanent position. Indeed, it may well equip them in any future candidature. The full job specification is available here.
The deadline for applications is midnight on Friday 24 August 2018, and should be sent to A.D.Graham@salford.ac.uk, with the subject heading ‘Interim ICZ Director.’ Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview which is likely to take place in the week commencing 17 September.
If you would like an informal and confidential conversation about the role, please contact Marie Mitchell via M.Mitchell1@salford.ac.uk or cal her on 0161 295 0390.
