Book a slot at the next Data Protection surgery
Jul 10, 2018
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on 25 May and brought in changes that affect our daily working lives.
If you missed out on the previous data protection surgery, or if you have any additional queries you wish to discuss, the Legal and Information Governance team are holding an additional informal surgery. Make sure you book a ten-minute slot on 2 August in Clifford Whitworth Meeting Room 12 between 1pm and 3pm, where the team will be on hand to answer data protection-related questions.
The surgery will provide a confidential, 1-2-1 session where you can raise any concerns or general questions about data protection – you may be unsure if the information you are collecting is sensitive and uncertain if you need consent, or maybe you want clarity around how long you should keep information. No matter what your data protection question is, we are here to offer help.
“GDPR is all about protecting personal data,” said Andrew Hartley, Director of Legal and Governance. “As University of Salford employees, we regularly collect and process the personal information of our staff and students, so it’s really important we address any concerns and uncertainties we have as an organisation.”
We hope colleagues will take advantage of this session. Please don't be shy and feel free to ask any question you like, no matter how basic you think it is. We’re here to support you.”
We’d be grateful if you could book an appointment for a ten-minute slot at the session by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to seeing you!
