Businesses across Salford join us for lively GM Chamber of Commerce debate
Feb 13, 2018
Last week (Friday 9th February) industry from across Greater Manchester came together for a special panel event entitled ‘The Future of Business in Salford’ in Salford Business School. The early morning event marked the official launch and celebration of the Chamber of Commerce’s Members’ Lounge in Lady Hale.
The event was opened by GM Chamber of Commerce’s Marketing & Campaigns Director Chris Fletcher, Dean of Salford Business School Professor David Spicer and Salford City Mayor Paul Dennett. Professor Spicer welcomed guests to the University and spoke about our industry-focused strategy and drive to work with companies throughout the region (which was later praised by the City Mayor).
This was followed by an in-depth panel discussion with TalkTalk’s Jane Garnsey, Cetus Solution’s Mike English, Freshfields Alan Parkinson, TfGM’s Nicola Kane, Public Desire’s Tayyab Akhlaq and Paul Dennett. The discussion focused on how we can grow business here in Salford and in particular the need for transport infrastructure, employment, skills and training. The lively debate finished with questions from the audience and networking.
