Children get a taster of Graduation Day
Last week (Friday 7th July), in partnership with the Youth Charter and CBBC, we welcomed 680 children from Salford and Trafford primary schools to participate in a range of education and sport activities both within the University MCUK building and across the MCUK plaza. An invitation only event, the activities were focussed on raising children’s awareness of health and wellbeing through sport and education. Groups of staff representing all four ICZs were present, including our very own Team Salford.

We opened the University MCUK building again on Saturday 8th July to welcome guests attending the CBBC Summer Social.  The Summer Social is a free annual event which features live links from the CBBC HQ team, exclusive masterclasses with the Scream Street crew, face to face talks with your favourite Awesome Authors, crazy science experiments with Dr Brain from Ultimate Brain, crafty makes with Marrying Mum & Dad, farmyard games with Shaun The Sheep, as well as a chance to be an Operation Ouch doc-tor!

ICZ Programme Manager Jennifer Hinsely said: “This was a great event that saw us welcome lots of enthusiastic young people into our building, along with their parents and carers. Our team of staff and student ambassadors had a great day dressing children in graduation gowns, helping them create personalised key rings with our laser cutter and giving them the opportunity to become weather readers in the our state of the art film studios and green room.”
