Dear colleagues, A University Brexit sub group, which I chair, has been working for the past few months to prepare the University for scenarios that may arise from Brexit. I can reassure you that we are preparing for a range of outcomes, including a scenario in which the UK departs the EU on 29 March with no agreement and no transition arrangements.

The University is accepting applications for a new AHRC PhD Studentship, an industry-based collaborative program called The NWCDTP Collaborative Doctoral Award. This is a unique, industry-based collaborative program, which will support PhD study commencing October 2019. CDA Studentships can be held on a +3 basis and may be either full-time or part-time.

This co-incides with the publication of the first practical manual on the therapy, drawing on forty years of research, teaching and practice.

Congratulations to Sarah Owens, Lecturer in Adult Nursing from the School of Health and Society, who has been delivering bereavement and loss training to teachers, teaching assistants and pastoral staff in both primary and secondary schools since 2015, with over 300 staff attending the sessions to date.
