The latest Leading at Salford event took place on Monday 9 July, led by John Whitlow, our Chief Information Officer. This was the fourth Leading at Salford event this academic year, where university leaders come together to connect and have those important conversations. Earlier events, led each time by different colleagues in the leadership community looked at the Salford Behaviours, industry collaboration/putting our ICZ delivery into practice and learning from failure.
The Students’ Union are celebrating after winning the Relationships and Partnerships Award at the National Union of Students’ (NUS) awards ceremony last Wednesday. They came out on top from a field of around 560 other organisations!

Salford students gained invaluable industry experience worked on the production for a special live version of infamous television talent show ‘Stars in their Eyes’ in aid of Prevent Breast Cancer. Alumnus Tara McGinley who graduated from our MSc Advanced Practice (Health and Social Care) programme now Advanced Clinical Practice, in 2008 has been given the prestigious title of Queen’s Nurse (QN) by community nursing charity The Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI). She received the honour from one of the charity’s supporters, Stephen McGann from “Call the Midwife”, at a ceremony in June in London.
