It’s nearly time to Deck the Halls and Ding Dong Merrily on High again as the University of Salford Christmas Carol Service will be returning for another year on Wednesday 13 December. Expect festive readings and carols with the University Big Band and New Adelphi choirs.
The University is in with a chance of securing two Times Higher Education (THE) awards tonight, having been shortlisted from hundreds of higher education institutions in both the International Collaboration of the Year and Outstanding University Entrepreneurship categories.
Preparations are well underway for Graduation - a key event in the University’s calendar - which will take place on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 December 2017.
In our continuous drive to improve the University’s facilities for staff and students, we are pleased to announce the introduction of gender neutral toilets across campus. 'Just a toilet’ – a joint campaign from the Diversity & Inclusion team, askUS and the Students' Union - aims to dispell the myths around ungendered toilets and coincides with Salford Inclusion and Diversity Week.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) in partnership with the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has published global standards for prosthetics and orthotics. These standards will support countries to fulfil their obligations under the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and its goals to promote a healthy life and well-being for all ages.

Following a University review of the existing Module Evaluation Questionnaire (MEQ) and formal approval at ASQAC on 8 November MEQ is being re-named Module Review and an amended set of 8 questions have been developed.

Congratulations to our Digital Marketing team who have just received the accolade of having the tenth best social media across all UK universities. The rankings, which appeared in Times Higher Education earlier in the week, were compiled by student video production company Uni Shoots and took into account total social media following, web page visits and Facebook and Instagram followers and Youtube subscribers.
Salford City Council are providing free suicide awareness training courses and workshops for organisations across the city who work with children, young people and families. This is part of the Salford Suicide Prevention Strategy which responds to Greater Manchester and national policy and guidance in relation to suicide prevention. The policy sets out Salford’s approach towards the aspiration of a zero suicide city by co-ordinating the approach to suicide prevention awareness and bereavement support.
